WHERE THE WORMS DWELL 23"x31" Watercolor, embroidery thread, sea salt 2019.
Inspired by aquatic soil samples taken from the Gulf of Mexico, as part of conservation research to analyze the shifting environment of sedimentary sea worms. This work captures the chaotic existence of shifting sands, the bright colors of mineral deposits, and the trails left by the worms. This work also considers the deeper meaning of concepts such as "home" and the ever-changing experience of that concept as also felt by the artist.
